This kitchen remodeling project gave the client the truly open first floor plan they desired. Their previously renovated kitchen (10 years prior) had increased the ceiling height, but left the space closed off to the rest of the living area. The homeowners felt closed-in while in the kitchen and isolated when in the dining room. The living room was avoided all together. As a result the first floor didn’t get used as much as they’d like. Opening up the space, with no walls or posts to obstruct the view, now allows the homeowners to enjoy the whole, integrated space daily.
