Project Overview: These homeowners needed an updated and more
organized kitchen with more storage space and better circulation.
They also wanted to have a casual eating area in close proximity
to the kitchen. In addition, their existing sunroom, attached
to the rear of the house and to the garage, was not very attractive
(especially the vaulted ceiling with dark wood beams) and they
didn’t feel the space was utilized in the best way for their
family. They wanted to have a better view of the backyard ad more
natural light in this main living area.

So, Bowers Design Build reconfigured their kitchen making it more
organized and created space for a walk in pantry. We added a breakfast
room, with beautiful semi-circular walls filled with windows to
capture the natural light. The room is spacious enough for a large
table and side board.

The sunroom was redesigned and converted to a home office and mud
room leading to the garage. This allowed the transition from the
garage to the living space to be more practical for a family with
two small children.

All of this was accomplished with the creative use of multiple
ceiling lines to better compliment the scale of the rooms and
a unique design of the breakfast room to take advantage of the
natural light. Incorporating the new roof lines into the existing
structure while retaining the upper level bedroom windows was
a challenge, but quality-minded skill overcame any obstacles,
making this project beautiful inside and out.
This project was the winner of the Contractor of the Year Award
for Medium Size Remodels.
