The home was built in 1961. As part of a complete whole house renovation, this kitchen was carefully designed for the homeowners who love to cook, bake and entertain. Since the home was being gutted, the kitchen design could start with a clean slate. The kitchen design is perfect for this family where the wife is the primary cook and the husband the “clean up guy”. The wife has a work triangle between the refrigerator and the stove and ovens, complete with prep sink and in-cabinet trash can. A pull out spice rack and cabinet for cooling oils make food prep easy. The husband has the perfect clean up area, a double bowl sink sandwiched between two dish washers. A new beverage center located outside the kitchen footprint keeps guests entertained and not under foot.
The homeowners say, the kitchen is truly perfect for them.
The old kitchen was functional at best.
The new kitchen is beyond functional, it’s beautiful. We wanted to retain the original placement of the kitchen window. So, note the “floating” range hood.
The former dining room was generous, but it was closed off to the rest of the house.
The new dining room addition is ideal for casual entertaining. The cabinets under the large windows are great for storage; with granite-topped buffet service area above.

The after space now houses the beverage center, a powder room (behind the cabinetry wall) and a hallway transition space from the kitchen to the sunroom.
