2018 Grand Award from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) for Bathroom Renovations

Our clients wanted a more usable master bathroom. Their former shower was too small, the bathtub unusable, the toilet room to small and they rubbed elbows when brushing their teeth at the vanity. And, all of the builder grade fixtures and finishes were showing their age. This is their forever home, so they wanted to make their master bathroom a retreat. We borrowed some space from the adjacent overly large master bedroom to create the space needed for his and her vanities, a generous shower and a freestanding tub. The client is very happy with the new space.

After: Second Floor Plan. Borrowing a little space from the master bedroom and reconfiguring the master closet allowed for the space needed to meet the objectives for the master bath remodel.

The before master bath was builder grade and showing its age. The shower was too small, the tub too difficult to use and the vanity had no elbow room.

After master bath has a much larger shower and a soaker tub that is much easier to access. A new tray ceiling, glass shower surround, 12 X 24 matte tile flooring in pearl and a beautiful polished nickel 6-light chandelier finish the space.

The before double bowl vanity didn’t allow for much “elbow room” when both husband and wife were using the space.

With new his and her vanities, both husband and wife have lots of personal space. One side of the room has a vanity with tower storage. The other has wood panels to create more interest in the space and not have the room look so mirror image. The positioning of both vanities adds symmetry to the room.

It is important to illustrate that the before bedroom did have an abundance of extra space to accommodate the new bath configuration. So often, master bedrooms are so much larger than they need to be but the adjacent space are comprised.

The after space for the master bedroom is still more than ample and was not negatively impacted by the new bath configuration.
