Our client had a wonderfully spacious backyard with a swimming
pool. The family loves to entertain. However, the outdoor space
was not conducive to all the outdoor living the family really wanted
to do.
So, they asked us
to design and build an outdoor kitchen, eating area and living room.
This area was built off a newly designed kitchen, so the spaces
really work well together.
We designed the outdoor
kitchen to be closest to the indoor kitchen. This way, while the outdoor
kitchen is fully functional, the amenities of the indoor kitchen are
only a few steps away. The dining area was positioned so that people
with wet bathing suits didn’t need to drip water throughout
the new space; rather the dining area was positioned closest to the
pool.
The living area is reminiscent
of a quaint lodge. With comfortable furniture, a few blankets and
the fire place, the space is used all year round.
Lastly, the hot tub is tucked away in a private corner of the space.
Shoji screen sliding panels give you the flexibility to open up
the space or seclude it. A nearby beverage center makes refreshment
convenient!
